Weddings at Gretna Green

Hidden away in the romantic French countryside near Poitiers lies Le Nid De Plumes, a breathtaking Irish-owned wedding venue with a story as unique as its name. Meaning “The Nest of Feathers,” this remarkable space was once a French feather factory before being lovingly transformed by Caroline Gardiner—an experienced event planner from Dublin—who now calls France home with her husband.
The venue’s raw industrial charm has been beautifully preserved across two elegant floors. At its heart is The Plumasserie, the main event space where most weddings unfold. This room opens onto a Parisian-style cobblestone terrace, an idyllic spot for elegant drink receptions before dinner. Upstairs, The Birdcage and The Gallery offer flexible spaces perfect for a ceremony backup plan, children’s activities, or an intimate aperitif.
The real magic happens in The Enchanted Forest—a fairytale setting nestled among the trees, complete with glowing lights, rustic fairy cabins, and a built-in firepit that’s hosted countless late-night sing-alongs and whiskey toasts.
When the sun sets, the celebration moves to “Le Frigo,” the venue’s former cold storage room, now transformed into a lively party space with a dancefloor and glittering disco ball—ideal for keeping the festivities going into the night.
Onsite accommodation comfortably sleeps up to 20 guests, with a charming gîte (sleeps 6), four cozy fairy cabins (2 per cabin), and a main house for 8. Additional hotels and gîtes are conveniently located nearby, just a short stroll away.
Travel is simple, with Poitiers Airport only 15 minutes from the venue and direct flight options from London, Barcelona, and Edinburgh. Guests from Ireland can also fly directly to La Rochelle, Nantes, Paris, or Bordeaux—all within easy train or car distance.
Le Nid De Plumes blends rustic French beauty with warm Irish hospitality—creating a truly unforgettable wedding destination.
