Nestled in 140 acres of rolling parkland, farmland, and ancient woodlands, Martinstown House is a charming country home built in the 1830s. Offering complete exclusivity for weddings and celebrations, this historic estate promises privacy, beauty, and an authentic countryside experience.
The Booth family lovingly care for the grounds, sharing their home with grazing sheep, gentle donkeys, friendly cattle, and free-range hens whose eggs are freshly gathered for the kitchen. The main house features seven elegant and beautifully appointed bedrooms, while the Stone Yard adds three more cosy rooms. For guests who love a touch of adventure, our glamping village includes ten bell tents, five stable rooms, and a romantic shepherd’s hut—perfect for a magical countryside stay.
At Martinstown House, food is at the heart of every celebration. We take great pride in crafting dishes that showcase the finest local ingredients, with much of our produce and meat sourced from nearby suppliers. Fresh herbs are handpicked from our very own Walled Garden, while fish arrives straight from the bustling markets of Howth.
Our head chef brings global expertise to the table, having trained at the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork, Rick Stein’s in Padstow, and in Goa, India—ensuring every menu blends creativity, freshness, and flavour.
From sunlit lawns to elegant marquees, your wedding reception at Martinstown House can unfold in a variety of stunning settings. Many couples choose the front lawn, where The Sipping Container—our chic new container bar—sits beneath a natural stretch tent supported by ancient bog oak logs.
For larger celebrations, our vintage-style Indian marquee in the Walled Garden offers space for over 240 guests amid blooms and rustic charm. And for something truly special, we’re delighted to offer our vintage 1966 VW Campervan for you to use on-site as you please.
Inside the main house, the Drawing Room offers an intimate atmosphere for smaller gatherings of up to 50 guests—a space filled with period charm and timeless elegance.
Fully licensed by the HSE for civil and alternative ceremonies, Martinstown House offers a choice of breathtaking ceremony spaces. Exchange vows beneath the towering 130-foot Californian Coastal Redwood in our enchanting Woodland Ceremony Area, or within the romantic Walled Garden, framed by heritage stonework and climbing greenery.
The Woodland Ceremony space, once the estate’s original greenhouse, has been lovingly transformed using reclaimed materials—its chandelier rescued from a grand house in Westmeath, and its tin roof salvaged from an old Curragh army building. With a full PA system and seating for up to 330 guests, this unique setting is ideal for Humanist, Spiritualist, and Interfaith ceremonies.
Nearby, several quaint country churches of various denominations offer traditional options for couples seeking a classic touch.
A wedding at Martinstown House isn’t just an event—it’s a collection of cherished moments woven together. The laughter during speeches, the quiet joy of holding hands before the first dance, the warmth of fireside conversations, and the taste of delicious, locally inspired dishes—these are the memories that linger long after the day has passed.
Our mission is simple: to create an atmosphere where those moments unfold naturally, surrounded by love, laughter, and the timeless beauty of the Irish countryside.
As a special tradition, we invite all our newlywed couples back for The Wedding Dressed Dinner—an enchanting evening to relive the magic of your wedding day. Slip back into your gown or suit, enjoy cocktails in the Drawing Room, take fresh photos around the grounds, and share a pint by the fire with new friends. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate love all over again.
